About Me
Hi! My name is Jake Dunn and I'm 18 years of age. I'm currently living in Bedwas, Caerphilly. I've grown up in a very musically inclined environment; my father is a blues guitarist and songwriter and has been teaching guitar for many years. It was his love for music that inspired me to pick up the guitar. I've owned guitars for as long as I can remember but only started focusing on the art during the first lockdown. Since then I have not been able to put my guitars down. My uncle also owns 'Radioshop Pickups', a company that creates and supplies luxury guitar pickups across the world.
My influences
My influences come from a large variety of different guitarists and genres. I take a lot of influence from the likes of BB King and Stevie Ray Vaughan, who are often considered to be two of the greatest blues musicians of all time. I'm also greatly inspired by the rhythm guitar playing of Jimi Hendrix. I'm no stranger to heavier and faster guitarists, especially guitarists like Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai and Yngwie Malmsteen. In fact, my guitar of choice is an Ibanez JemJr which is a Steve Vai signature guitar. If I'm attempting to write heavier music, I will usually look to Tom Morello for inspiration.
I'm also an aspiring vocalist/songwriter. Whilst I do find lyricism difficult to grasp, I am confident in my ability to sing. I often take style inspiration from the grunge musicians, most notably Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder.
